Many thanks again to Paul, Paul and Shirley Mascard for hosting their ever-popular Open Day and barbecue lunch at Specialist Cars Southwest in Exeter.

No rain, although the day was not quite as warm as during last year's event. Members turned out in a wide variety of Bentleys and Rolls Royces, including a Springfield Phantom I ("New Phantom") of around 1924 and no fewer than two Mk VI Bentleys, with coachbuilt bodies by H J Mulliner.

The whitwall tyres are a clue to the origin of this Phantom I - Springfield, USA. The headlamps and damped bumper bar are also typical of the American-built Rolls Royces. This one is also left-hand drive, which is less common, even on Springfield cars.
