General
I have rather more pix from the Spanish rally than I can reasonably accommodate on the web. I have chosen what I think are the best of them. Some do not display well at 320 x 240; notable are images with a lot of high-contrast regular patterns, (like Bentley grills) which seriously confuse digital displays.
Update April 2012: I have now resolved this and reworked the thumbnails with improved resolution and at 400 x 300.
All of the small images are clickable links to a size of image that reproduces good detail on the screen, but overflows. It probably will not print well, though. The original JPEG files from which the web images are derived were taken at 6 megapixel resolution, giving an image size of 2848 x 2136 (pixels), which prints acceptably unless you require exhibition size and quality. The file sizes are around 1.5 Mb, which is unsuitable for web display: these take an age to download and consume disk space disproportionate to the marginal benefit. 1424 x 1068 JPEG images are typically of the order of 200 Kb, which is a reasonable compromise.
I can email a small number of full-size files to anyone who would like some. Email me with the filename(s) of the images that you would like; the filename should display in your browser when you are viewing the 1424x1068 image. Alternatively, I can send you a CD-ROM disk with all of Di's photos and mine; also the DVD video, if you are a glutton for punishment. Email your postal address if you want either of these options.
Panoramas
The panoramic shots have been generated by a clever piece of software from Canon which stitches adjacent image files together. In most cases, I have used only the resulting panorama and have not copied it to the CD ROM disk. In some cases, the panoramas are not "clickable", because I did not make a larger image than the one displayed. The stitching is not perfect, partly because lens aberrations at the edges of the field cannot be completely overcome by the software but mostly because I did not use a levelled tripod when taking the original pictures.
Sorry about that!
DVD video
I have just over 16 minutes of moving footage on DVD. If anyone wants a copy, I can mail you a disk. I do not have proper software for editing DVD files, so what I took is what you get. I am not at all satisfied with the quality of output from bundled software, generating MPG files, so I do not intend to try using it again.
Update, April 2009: I have persevered with Nero's video editing software and produced a reasonably acceptable edited version of the Spanish Rally. There is even a sound-track ... of sorts.
